Advantages
Fuel-efficient engine, spacious cabin, rear row comfortable for two, good multimedia with decent sound, reliable suspension
Disadvantages
Weak sound insulation, hard interior plastic that scratches easily, thin paint, slow cabin heating in winter
Review
I bought a brand-new 2020 Elantra from the dealership, Active trim with automatic transmission. Mostly drive in the city, sometimes to my country house 150 km away. For its price, it’s an excellent option, but not without drawbacks. On the highway, it’s comfortable and overtaking is easy, but the sound insulation is weak — after 3 hours, the noise gets tiring. Once had a minor accident — bumper cracked, repair was cheap, but chips on the hood are annoying as the paint is thin. Fuel consumption is great, 50-liter tank lasts a long time. Overall, great for work and family, but if cabin quietness is important, better to look at pricier options.
