Review

I bought a 2018 Hyundai Elantra (1.6L, 128 hp, automatic) at the end of 2019 with 15,000 km on it. I mostly drive in the city — work, school, shopping — and occasionally go out of town on weekends. The fuel consumption surprised me: about 8 L/100 km in traffic and 6 L/100 km on the highway. The cabin is genuinely spacious: my wife and I and two kids in the back seats fit comfortably. The suspension is firm but durable — only scheduled maintenance over two years.

However! The sound insulation is almost non-existent: at speeds over 100 km/h, tire noise becomes annoying. The engine is lively only up to 80 km/h, then starts to lag, so overtakes must be planned ahead. The paintwork is fragile — the hood already has three chips from small stones. Overall, fine for daily city driving, but on long trips you want more comfort.
