The special edition is designed to emphasize the connection between the production hot hatch and motorsport, while offering fans of the model more precise settings based on the experience of one of the most titled WRC drivers.

Continuing the Rally Philosophy of GR Yaris

The new version is named Sébastien Ogier 9x World Champion Edition and was unveiled during the Monte Carlo Rally. It is timed to coincide with the French driver's ninth championship title, won as part of the Toyota Gazoo Racing factory team. At the same time, the model is conceived not only as a commemorative series but also as an opportunity for fans who missed previous special editions to acquire a GR Yaris variant closer to a rally car.

The novelty is based on the current GR Yaris Aero Performance version. At the time of the announcement, the car is in the refinement stage, but key features have already been revealed.

Special Driving Modes

One of the main distinctions is the unique driving modes. The Ogier Edition uses settings familiar from previous special series but adapted to the current vehicle configuration.

  • The Morizo mode replaces the standard Gravel and was developed with input from Akio Toyoda, taking into account his personal rally experience.
  • The Seb mode replaces Track and was tuned by Sébastien Ogier with an emphasis on more active rear axle performance, where torque distribution between the axles is 40:60.

Design and Styling

Externally, the limited edition features a black Gravite body color, signature graphics on the side panels, and a small accent in the form of the French tricolor on the front. The car is equipped with matte black wheels and blue brake calipers — an element traditionally associated with Ogier's cars.

The interior features a smaller steering wheel with a modified rim shape and stitching in the colors of the French flag. The button layout has been refined based on solutions used in the racing GR Yaris Rally2. Complementing the look are leather trim on the handbrake handle and a nameplate with the individual serial number.

Technical Specifications

No changes to the powertrain have been announced. The car is expected to retain the standard configuration for the 2026 model year: a 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine producing 206 kilowatts, paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The drive is all-wheel, with Torsen limited-slip differentials on both axles.

Production Run and Availability

A total of 200 units of the Sébastien Ogier Edition are planned, with half allocated to the European market. Information on pricing and exact quotas for individual countries will be published later. Previous limited editions of the GR Yaris were in such high demand that distribution often occurred through special auctions.

Summary

The new Toyota GR Yaris version, created with input from Sébastien Ogier, continues the line of limited series with a rally focus. The car combines the model's recognizable sporty character with targeted refinements in settings and styling, remaining as close as possible to the brand's racing philosophy.
