Alongside conventional exterior styling elements and additional cabin equipment, the Japanese catalog includes several solutions rarely seen even in premium vehicles. These include mechanical anti-theft devices and an accessory designed to reduce odors inside the cabin.

A New Production Strategy for the Lexus ES

For Lexus, the new ES represents more than another update to its executive sedan. It will become the brand's first model to be manufactured simultaneously in Japan and China. Production in Shanghai is scheduled to begin in 2027. The facility will be one of the few automotive plants in China wholly owned by a foreign company without the involvement of a local partner.

The Japanese plant in Fukuoka will continue producing the ES for several export markets, including the United States. Some Lexus ES vehicles for the US market were previously built in Georgetown, Kentucky, but that facility will now focus on the higher-volume Toyota Camry and RAV4. Changes to the logistics network could increase the sedan's price in certain markets.

Powertrains and Equipment

In Europe, the new Lexus ES is offered with a hybrid powertrain as well as in the fully electric ES 350e and ES 500e variants. The hybrid version starts at around €60,000 in the Czech Republic, while the electric models approach €80,000. Depending on the trim level, buyers can choose larger alloy wheels, exclusive exterior colors, and extended warranty programs.

The range of optional equipment is considerably broader in Japan. The sedan is available with an aerodynamic package that includes a front splitter, side-sill extensions, and rear-bumper elements. Decorative aerodynamic trim for the rear pillars is also offered, along with a package developed by Modellista that can be paired with forged 21-inch wheels.

Interior Accessories

Several options are intended to improve everyday convenience. The catalog includes illuminated door-sill plates, customizable ambient lighting around the cupholders, cargo-area trim, and model-specific floor mats. A Comfort package for rear-seat passengers adds accessories for storing personal items and improving comfort during journeys.

Tablet mounts, organizers fitted to the backs of the front seats, and additional storage systems are also available separately. These solutions are primarily aimed at vehicles regularly used for long-distance travel or carrying passengers in the rear seats.

Theft Protection and Odor Control

The most unusual section of the Japanese catalog focuses on vehicle security. Owners can purchase a mechanical wheel lock that can be installed without professional assistance and prevents the vehicle from being moved. Another option is an additional steering wheel lock. These devices do not replace the standard electronic security systems, but they can serve as a visible additional deterrent against theft.

Another distinctive option is a footrest with an integrated deodorizing element. It is designed to reduce unpleasant odors inside the cabin and may be particularly useful during longer journeys or when the vehicle is shared by several passengers.

With these additions, Lexus is expanding the personalization options for the new ES beyond styling and technical equipment. The official accessory catalog now includes solutions focused on comfort, cabin organization, vehicle security, and maintaining a fresher interior environment.
