smooth ride, comfortable seats, quiet cabin, good roadholding
transmission hesitates, ground clearance low, price bites
Bought a 2024 Tiguan, 1.5 TSI engine, 150 hp, DSG transmission, front-wheel drive. Took my time deciding between the Kia Sportage and this one, but went with Volkswagen in the end—Germans do know their stuff. The car is well assembled, nothing rattles, doors close with that satisfying thud, just feels good.
Love the interior, seats are comfy, back doesn't ache even after a couple hours straight. Materials are soft, no cheap plastic smell like in Chinese cars. Dual-zone climate, seat and steering wheel heating—real lifesaver in winter. Multimedia glitches sometimes when connecting the phone—won't see it or freezes—but it sorts itself out, I don't sweat it.
The Tiguan drives smoothly, though the transmission thinks a bit during acceleration, especially if you floor it suddenly, but then it catches up, shifts gently. On the highway it's rock-solid, 130-140 km/h feels like nothing, steering is precise. Fuel use around 8 liters if you're easy on it, up to 10 in town.
Noise insulation is decent, no wind noise, just tires humming a bit on rough asphalt. Suspension is comfy, soaks up potholes, but clearance could be higher—scraped the curb a couple times, annoying.
One service so far, oil, filters, all standard. Prices aren't fun—dealerships charge a lot—but peace of mind knowing it's done right.
Overall pleased with the car, drives confidently, comfort is top-notch. Yeah, not cheap, but it's a pleasure to drive, feels like proper engineering, not just wheels on a box. Only gripe is the DSG hesitating sometimes, but they say that's normal for it.
