smooth ride, spacious interior, excellent noise insulation, fuel-efficient engine
multimedia lags, paintwork is a bit weak, original parts prices seem overpriced to me and based on feedback from friends with other cars
I own a 2020 Hyundai Sonata, 2.5 engine, naturally aspirated, 180 horsepower, six-speed automatic. Bought it new from the dealership at the end of 2020, now mileage is just over 100,000 km. I took a long time to choose the car meticulously, considered the Camry, Accord, even the Passat, but settled on the Sonata - the balance of price, features, and real comfort turned out optimal.
I'll start with the suspension. It's perfectly balanced: not too soft, but not 'bouncy' like on Europeans. It handles small bumps smoothly, on the highway it tracks like it's on rails. At 140-150 km/h stability is excellent, no body roll, steering is informative though the power assist feels a bit artificial.
The engine is honest, no turbo or other frills, runs smoothly without vibrations. Doesn't burn oil, level stays steady between services. Average fuel consumption - 8.2 liters per 100 km, highway about 6.5. The transmission is adequate, shifts smoothly without jerks, kickdown engages a bit thoughtfully but predictably.
The interior is spacious, especially in the back - an adult can ride 500 km without fatigue. Seats are comfortable, heating and ventilation work like clockwork. Materials are good, but the gloss on the center panel quickly gets micro-cracks, and the paint is indeed delicate - chips appear even from small pebbles.
Electronics occasionally acts up: multimedia froze a couple times, Android Auto dropped connection though I update it on time. But climate control, cruise, and assists - everything works precisely, no surprises.
Overall, the Sonata isn't about wow-effect, but about confidence and predictability. A car for those who like order in everything: even engine, quiet cabin, clear control logic. Not for show, but for those who value comfort, logic, and calm at the wheel.
