The project received the name «La Perle Rare» and is the result of close collaboration between the client and the brand's specialists. The car is conceived as a tribute to sculpture, the plasticity of forms, and the play of light on the complex surfaces of the body.

Idea and Artistic Concept

Work on the automobile began in 2023 during the car concours at Pebble Beach, where Bugatti representatives discussed the main styling directions with the owner of the future roadster. The key theme became expressive plasticity reminiscent of early 20th-century sculptors. The focus was on harmony of proportions, purity of lines, and thoughtful detailing.

The foundation of the project is the desire to unite engineering precision and an artistic approach. Every element of the exterior and interior was considered part of the overall composition, where color, texture, and form interact with one another.

Exterior: Complex Play of Shades

The car's body is painted in two specially developed shades. The upper part is finished in a deep golden color with finely tuned metallic particles, allowing the surface to change its character depending on the lighting. The lower zone of the body and side panels are executed in a warm light palette that emphasizes the contours and visually lightens the silhouette.

Color selection took significant time: specialists experimented with the reflective properties of the paint to achieve a balanced gloss without excessive aggressiveness. The two-tone scheme also extends to the diamond-cut wheels.

Decorative elements deserve special attention:

  • special version emblems on the rear fender and engine bay cover;
  • graphic motifs on the side panels;
  • the image of a dancing elephant — the historical symbol of the marque.

Interior: Continuation of the Artistic Theme

The interior is finished in light leather with contrasting golden accents. Carbon fiber elements are matched to the exterior shade, and aluminum details feature fine engraving. Elephant embroidery is present on the seat headrests, and the project name is applied to the central tunnel.

A special place is occupied by a miniature elephant sculpture integrated into the transmission selector mechanism. This element is not only decorative but also emphasizes the connection of the car with the world of art. In darkness, the interior is complemented by soft lighting that enhances the sensation of depth and volume.

Technical Basis: Final Chapter of the W16 Engine

The Bugatti W16 Mistral is equipped with an 8.0-liter sixteen-cylinder engine with four turbochargers. Its power is 1,600 hp, and torque reaches 1,600 Nm. The power unit is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch robotic transmission and all-wheel drive system.

The suspension and aerodynamics of the roadster are tuned for operation at limit speeds. The Mistral became the fastest open car in the marque's history, achieving a top speed of 453.91 km/h. At the same time, the body construction provides the necessary rigidity and stability even under extreme loads.

Conclusion

The «La Perle Rare» instance demonstrates the capabilities of the Sur Mesure division and confirms that Bugatti continues to consider the automobile as an object of art. The W16 Mistral in this version unites the technical perfection of the 8.0-liter engine and a considered artistic concept, highlighting the conclusion of the legendary W16 motor era in open format.
