Bentley has introduced a model that returns to non-hybrid powertrains. The new Continental GT Supersports is the lightest Bentley since the 1940s, weighing under two tons. For a brand known for substantial comfort, this represents a shift toward reduced mass.
The approach involves eliminating batteries and electric motors, relying solely on a twin-turbocharged V8 and extensive use of carbon fiber for weight reduction. Key components include the roof, diffuser, large rear wing, and rear seats, all replaced with lightweight materials. Rear sound insulation has been removed, and the audio system is optimized for front passengers.
Rear-Wheel Drive in a Road-Going Continental for the First Time
A notable feature is the rear-wheel-drive configuration. This is a first for production Continental models, previously limited to racing variants. The four-liter V8 delivers 666 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque to the rear axle. Performance figures include 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of approximately 310 km/h.
The eight-speed automatic transmission is standard. Additional features include a widened track, active stabilizer, and rear-axle steering, enhancing handling and agility.

Braking System Designed for High Performance
The braking setup includes the largest carbon-ceramic discs available in production vehicles: 440 mm front and 410 mm rear. Wheels from Manthey Racing and Pirelli Trofeo RS tires complement the package, emphasizing a return to performance-oriented roots.
Pricing Considerations
Pricing details have not been disclosed, but estimates suggest a range of €380,000 to €420,000, given the limited production of 500 units.
This model prioritizes traditional engine performance over hybrid systems.
