Review

I bought a Jeep Compass Latitude with a 2.0-liter turbo engine and all-wheel drive in June 2024, and by May 2025 it had already clocked 14,000 km. From the start, I liked its confidence on dirt roads and light off-road terrain — switch Selec-Terrain to the right mode (Mud, Sand, Snow, or Auto) and it drives almost like a proper off-roader. In the city, the Compass is no slouch either: 0–100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, with enough pull to keep you moving in traffic.

The cabin is spacious: even three people in the back aren’t cramped, and the huge trunk — over 770 liters without folding the seats — feels like a suitcase monster. The 10.1″ Uconnect screen is responsive, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto work flawlessly. Fuel consumption stays around 9.8 L/100 km in the city and about 7.3 on the highway, which is fine for AWD. However, the suspension can feel too firm on our roads, with potholes and speed bumps sending jolts straight to your back. Sound insulation could be a bit better — above 100 km/h you hear tire noise and a slight engine hum. Maintenance isn’t cheap, and it’s better to order some spare parts in advance.

Overall, the Compass turned out to be a great buy: it handles back roads easily, is comfortable inside, and isn’t too thirsty. If you want a compact crossover with off-road character and don’t mind a bit of shake on our roads, this Jeep is well worth the money.
