To adapt, the company has formed partnerships with local manufacturers, including Xpeng, resulting in a new dedicated platform. The ID.Unyx 07 is the first production model based on this platform and adopts a crossover format that combines sedan and SUV characteristics, popular in its primary market.

Compared with the preceding ID.Unyx 06, the new model is larger, measuring approximately 4.85 meters in length, 1.85 meters in width and 1.56 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2.83 meters. It rides on 20-inch wheels. The initial variant is equipped with a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 231 horsepower. Dual-motor all-wheel-drive versions are scheduled to follow. Batteries are supplied by CATL, although exact capacity and range figures have not yet been released.
Design
The exterior styling of the ID.Unyx 07 departs from conventional Volkswagen design, featuring smoother lines and a more dynamic front end. The interior is expected to include a distinctive flat-bottom steering wheel and a large infotainment display.
Positioning in the Chinese Market
The vehicle is positioned primarily for China, where the electric vehicle segment is characterized by intense price competition. Official pricing has not been announced, although analysts anticipate a starting range of approximately 35,000 to 40,000 euros. The model’s performance in the market will serve as an indicator of Volkswagen’s renewed competitiveness in the world’s largest electric vehicle market.
