In Switzerland, this shift is gaining serious momentum — and the infrastructure is developing just as fast as the trucks themselves. Agrola is proving that even the biggest rigs can be charged quickly and conveniently.
Why It Matters
Transportation is responsible for about a third of all greenhouse gas emissions. Swiss officials have set a bold target: zero transport emissions by 2050. This is driving major carriers to seriously consider electric tractors. Projections show that by 2030, half of all new trucks could be running emissions-free.
But going electric isn’t just about the vehicles — it’s about the charging. Without powerful stations, it doesn’t work. Enter Agrola.
First High-Power Truck Charging Stations
In the Swiss town of Konolfingen, one of the country’s first dedicated fast-charging stations for electric trucks opened on October 17. Capable of delivering up to 600 kW — roughly ten times the power of a typical passenger EV charger. Advanced liquid cooling for the cables and connectors makes this possible without overheating.
They also thought about real-world usability: truckers need room to maneuver. The station is conveniently located just 12 minutes from the A6 highway.

Not Only Roadside: Fleet Depot Charging
Public stations are great, but most logistics companies need charging right at their yards. Agrola is helping build depot stations. For example, Traveco partnered with them to install five units in Nebikon, providing ten charging points with up to 384 kW total — perfect for full fleet operations.
Win for Business and Environment
These fast-charging networks accelerate the switch to green transport. The simpler it is to charge, the faster fleets go electric. Agrola is evolving from a fuel brand into a full energy solutions provider, delivering renewable-powered smart charging for the future.
In a few years, recharging a heavy electric truck will feel as routine as filling up a gas car today. Companies like Agrola already have the roadmap.
