At the same time, some decisions may raise questions, especially against the backdrop of the brand's previously announced plans to return physical buttons to its vehicle cabins.

A New Stage for Volkswagen's Electric Models

In recent years, Volkswagen has been actively developing its electric vehicle direction. However, sales results indicate intensifying competition in the global market. Despite nearly nine million vehicles sold last year, the company's positions in some regions have begun to weaken. In particular, noticeable sales declines occurred in the US and China—two key markets for global manufacturers.

The situation in the Chinese market has become particularly challenging: local companies are actively expanding their presence, and brands like BYD and Geely have surpassed Volkswagen in sales volumes. This is why the German concern is intensifying its focus on developing models oriented specifically to the requirements of Chinese buyers.

  • a 65.2 kWh battery

The version with the larger battery will be paired with an all-wheel-drive system and two electric motors. The vehicle's mass in this configuration is about 2.7 tons, which is typical for large electric crossovers.

Interior with Almost No Physical Buttons

One of the main features of the new model is its fully digital cabin. Most vehicle functions are controlled via touchscreens. The front panel features two 15.6-inch displays that occupy a significant portion of the space.

The traditional instrument panel is replaced by a head-up display projecting information onto the windshield. For second-row passengers, there is an additional 21.4-inch screen that extends from the ceiling and is intended for multimedia functions.
