I bought a Kia Soul EX with a 2.0-liter engine in spring 2023, and so far it has 16,000 km on the odometer. I immediately liked its unique ‘boxy’ design: the updated grille and slim headlights make the car look modern and distinctive. The high driving position and large mirrors provide excellent visibility — parking in the city is easy, even without a camera. Inside, it’s just as pleasant: despite being just over four meters long, there’s enough space for rear passengers, and the 10.3-inch multimedia screen runs smoothly, supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Fuel consumption stays around 8.5 L/100 km in the city and 6.5–7 L on the highway, which is great for a compact crossover. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes about 8.5 seconds — not fast, but perfectly adequate for city driving. There are some downsides: the 364-liter trunk feels small when fully loaded; folding the rear seats increases it to 1,388 liters, but bulky items still require careful arrangement. Sound insulation is average — above 100 km/h you can hear tire noise and a slight wind whistle, making long highway trips more tiring. The suspension is tuned for comfort, but on our potholes, it sometimes shakes more than I’d like. I paid about $25,000 for this trim, and while extras — such as two-tone paint or heated seats — increase the price, I consider my investment justified. The Kia Soul EX is a stylish, practical, and economical urban crossover, perfect for those who don’t need a huge trunk and value unique design and ease of driving.
