I bought this Santa Fe in summer 2022 in the top-spec version — and immediately realized I’d overpaid just for the badge. In reality, it feels like a $20,000 car, not a $50,000 flagship. - The automatic started jerking after just 6,000 km, with noticeable “lags” between shifts. - The steering wheel cover cracked almost right away — by 4,000 km the leather was peeling at the seam. - The side bolster of the driver’s seat wore out by 12,000 km, even though I drove carefully. - The multimedia system is constantly sluggish: CarPlay either disconnects on its own or refuses to detect the phone, despite trying different cables and devices. - The lane-keeping camera fails when the sun is directly ahead — the system just shuts off and stops giving alerts. The importer and dealer respond curtly: “That’s the specification.” But for a price at least twice what you’d expect for an SUV, such flaws are unacceptable. Flagship? More like a budget car in a fancy suit.
