spacious and comfortable cabin, powerful and lively 3.0 TFSI engine with air suspension, feeling of confidence on the road and good stability, build quality and overall comfort on trips especially on the highway
expensive service and maintenance, media system stutters when connecting a phone, occasional road noise from tires on uneven surfaces, minor electronics glitches (e.g. keyless entry and sometimes unpredictable behavior from some systems)
I bought a 2024 Audi Q7, equipped with the 3.0 TFSI engine, quattro all-wheel drive, and air suspension. Right off the bat: the car feels solid and confident on the road, you feel calm on the highway, the acceleration is good—even without pushing it hard, there’s enough pull to overtake with ease, and the suspension smooths out imperfections – the comfort is really substantial. You especially notice it on longer drives: the cabin is spacious, and even with luggage and a stroller in the trunk you still have enough room – although the third row isn’t needed by most, it works for a child when needed.
The media system is generally cool, but when connecting a phone the interface sometimes lags, with occasional stutters that require a restart, which is a bit annoying, especially when you’re in a hurry. Reliability-wise: no major breakdowns in six months, though I’ve heard of small issues from others with keyless and electronics – in my case, a couple of sensors glitched twice, and restarting fixed it. Fuel consumption in mixed mode is higher than expected – around 12–14 L city and almost 10 L highway, but for the weight and performance, it’s tolerable. Maintenance is expensive, even minor jobs add up to significant amounts, warranty exists but for some things you have to go to the dealer and wait. Sound insulation is mostly fine, but on rough asphalt and with certain tires, you sometimes hear tire and wheel well noise – not critical, but noticeably less than perfect.
Conclusion: For those who want a large, comfortable SUV with power and road confidence and are willing to pay for service – a solid choice. If you want straightforward ownership without stress over service costs and minor electronics glitches, you might think twice.
