The series combines competitions with different histories, track characteristics, and conditions, making the season notably diverse and technically intensive.

History and Format of the Championship

The modern Mistrovství České republiky v rallye has been held since 1994 and is a direct continuation of the Czechoslovak and ČSFR championships. Over the decades, the series has formed a stable calendar, combining classic stages with long histories and younger rallies that add new formats and surfaces to the season.

In 2026, the "major championship" once again includes six stages, running from late April to September. All of them differ in road types, terrain, and climatic conditions, requiring versatile preparation from the crews.

Spring Season Start

Rallye Šumava Klatovy (April 24–26)

The season will open with a stage in the Šumava region. The rally has been held since the early 1960s and is traditionally based in Klatovy. The spring nature of the competition is often accompanied by variable weather, which directly affects grip and car setup choices.

Rallye Český Krumlov (May 22–23)

The stage in South Bohemia has been known since the early 1970s and is considered one of the most technical in the calendar. Narrow asphalt sections, limited error zones, and high density of turns make piloting precision more important than maximum power.

Summer Stages

Agrotec Petronas Rally Hustopeče (June 12–13)

One of the youngest stages in the championship appeared in the mid-2000s. Its feature is the combination of asphalt and gravel sections, as well as tracks in hilly terrain south of Brno, which significantly complicates the distance strategy.

Bohemia Rally Mladá Boleslav (July 11–12)

An asphalt rally with a rich history starting in 1974. The competition is closely linked to the region's automotive industry and regularly attracts both modern and historic rally cars.

Barum Czech Rally Zlín (August 14–16)

One of the oldest motor starts in the country has been held since 1971. The stage is known for spectacular special stages in rugged terrain and traditional sections that remain unchanged for decades.

Season Finale

Invelt Rally Pačejov (September 18–20)

The final stage of the season takes place in the Horažďovice area and relies on the long-standing traditions of the local auto club. The modern rally format here was finally formed in the 1990s, after several stages of rethinking and relaunching the competition.

Conclusions

The 2026 Czech Rally Championship calendar combines historical continuity and format diversity. Six stages cover different regions of the country and create a balanced season, where success is determined by stability, technical preparation, and the ability to adapt to changing track conditions.
